I am currently volunteering with Dr. David, who treks through the rough jungle terrain of Northern Thailand from one remote village to the next, providing medical care to impoverished people who cannot receive it any other way. Dr. David's organization, Where There is No Doctor, relies on the donations of generous people worldwide.
One of the things the organization needs most right now is a pick-up truck. Transport in the jungle is very unreliable and expensive, and a lot of time and resources are used up getting around. Many of Dr. David's supporters donate medicine or funds intended for medicine, but with his own transport he could reach many more people in less time, and the money saved by not hiring drivers and porters could be spent on medical supplies. A reliable used truck costs a mere US$750 here, so a donation of any size will help greatly.
